Nicole Herche

Reader

Nel Herche is a former English teacher turned writer, who relocated to London from the U.S. two years ago. She completed graduate studies in the fields of education, multicultural and transnational literatures, as well as creative writing. While keeping her writing as her main focus, she is also a freelance editor, a creative writing instructor, and a digital learning professional. She is launching a new website to promote independent authors called PeruseLit and an associated arts & literary magazine, Peruse. To the writers who participated in this year's contest, and those who will write and submit in the future, thank you for trusting us with your stories. It is difficult to put your writing out there to be evaluated. Every story is a bit of yourself laid bare and vulnerable on the page, but it is important to share your work to grow into the writer you want to be in the future. So keep writing, keep reading, keep submitting your stories. Remember that no one else sees the world as you do.

You can keep up with Nicole’s work on her website below:https://nelherche.com

Evelyn Selasi Borbor

Reader

Evelyn Selasi Borbor is an English language educator and creative writer with a strong academic foundation in literary studies and pedagogy. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Language Education from the University of Education, Winneba, where her training sharpened both her critical engagement with texts and her commitment to effective language use. Her creative work spans prose, drama, and poetry, driven by a deep love for storytelling and an interest in how language captures human experience, culture, and emotion. As a writer, Evelyn is particularly drawn to narratives that are honest, layered, and socially reflective, blending craft with meaning. Beyond the classroom and the page, she is passionate about the future of storytelling, especially within film and performance. She hopes to see a revived and thriving movie and storytelling industry; one that values originality, strong writing and authentic voices. One where everyone storyteller has the chance to tell their stories. Through teaching, writing, and literary engagement, Evelyn continues to explore the power of words not only as tools for instruction, but as vessels for imagination, creativity, and positive change.
