Founder

The founder, Sylvia Afia Amanimaa Amponsah is a Ghanaian creative writer, currently based in England. She attended Breman Asikuma Senior High School from 2011-2014, where she studied General Arts. She went ahead and studied Languages from 2016 to 2020 at the University of Education, Winneba. After her national service, she taught at AngloGold Ashanti School in Obuasi from 2021-2023. In August, 2023, she received the prestigious British Council GREAT Scholarship for her postgraduate studies in Creative Writing at the University of Westminster, London. She graduated in 2024. During her studies, she worked alongside university staff as a student ambassador, and was featured in the University of Westminster’s 2025 postgraduate prospectus, Student testimonial videos and university website. She was also an editor for the Wells Street Journal, a biannual anthology curated by the MA Creative Writing and Professional Writing students at the University of Westminster, where she published two short stories titled “Umqombothi” in Issue 20 and “Night, Literally” in Issue 21.

Currently, she is writing her debut novel.
